I'll tell a little of the songs fairly long road (of history) to release. It was written around 2008/9. My record keeping was not so great back then so I can't recall exactly. It is to date only the second song I've written in DADFAD (Open D minor tuning on guitar)- the other song being called 'Fidget' (Like A Pigeon On A Motorway). It was originally performed and recorded with my band at the time 'Berry Pomeroy' on our album 'Auto Destruction Music (From The 35th Century)'. Then around 2010 I decided to record an EP. I began recording with Peter Farrie who recorded and produced it- (perhaps co produced with me) The EP was not released at the time but I would like to thank the following for their contributions: Peter Farrie (producer, enginneer, mixing), Luke Heyfron (guitar), Lawrie Heyfron (Advice and possible guitar- I can't remember if he played on this one!), Katie Villa and Bernie Artuso (backing vocals), Ania Hardy (backing vocals) Julian Marshall (keyboard/piano), Simon Greenwood (additional mixing) and Myself (vocals, acoustic guitar, mastering). I think the theme of the song is one of injustice, and the various strait jackets society and the modern feudal/social/class system impose upon us all and also how mostly we just wast our lives and time in foolish ways (amongst other things). It is a battle cry, but one of hope! I hope you enjoy this song on its long awaited (by me at least) release! :) Cheers, GC.more
